Parks & People hosts regular events at the National Park and Historic Sites of Prince Edward Island. Fun for the whole family, these activities are a great way to enjoy the island's amazing natural beauty and rich cultural history. All our events are free of charge!

Ski & Skate - February 5, 2012, 1pm-4pm, Weather dependent
Make the most of the winter wonderland and join us for an afternoon of outdoor adventure. Cross-country ski, snowshoe or skate in Prince Edward Island National Park. When you're ready for a break, visit the warm-up hut next to Dalvay-by-the-Sea and we'll serve you a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie.

Beach Clean-up - June 13, 10am-12pm
Do your part to help the environment and keep our coastlines beautiful. Participate in our annual beach clean-up and restore the natural beauty of the shore. Volunteers will walk along the park's beaches and remove debris. A great opportunity to do a good deed while enjoying the fresh sea air and spring sunshine! Meet at the Cavendish main beach entrance and head out to the sands from there!

Come Fly-A-Kite - June 26th, 2pm-4pm
Take part in one of summer's most colorful displays. Held at scenic, historic Port-la-Joye-Fort Amherst near Cornwall, this event draws hundreds of kite flyers from across the island and around the Maritimes. Come just to watch the aerial acrobatics or to fly a kite of your own.

Parks Day - July 17th
On Saturday, July 18th, Parks and People Association and Parks Canada will be hosting "Parks Day" at Cavendish Grove (former Rainbow Valley), Prince Edward Island National Park. You are invited to join us in this celebration of Canada's National Parks and Historic Sites.

A variety of activities will be taking place including a free barbeque, music, games, bike rally and prize give-away. Participate in one or more of these activities, explore the network of area trails or simply enjoy Cavendish Grove's scenic setting.

Entrance to Cavendish Grove and the event will be free of charge. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Fall Frolic - TBA
A celebration of the season, our annual fall frolic features outdoor games, a guided nature hike and pumpkin carving. Experience the beauty of autumn on the island while enjoying a variety of fun activities. Perfect for the young, or the young-at-heart, this event is a great fall tradition.

Halloween Walk in the Haunted Wood - Oct. 29, 1pm-4pm
Green Gables Heritage Place. Put on your Halloween costume and get ready to scare up some fun at an afternoon filled with spooky adventure, crafts and games for the whole family! The Halloween Walk through Haunted Wood begins at 2PM in English, and 3PM in French. Let your kids scare up their creativity with 'Arts and Creepy Crafts!' and step back in time and take part in modern renditions of seasonal games of the Victorian era with 'Harvest Games of Yesteryear'. Bring along a mug, and reward yourself with a tempting treat of hot chocolate or hot apple cider. Rain or shine event; be sure to dress for an afternoon of outdoor fun. Make-up only, no masks please! Christmas Lights - TBA
A magical evening that signals the beginning of the Christmas season, this event takes place at Province House in downtown Charlottetown. A candlelit procession up historic Great George Street, Christmas carols, a visit from Santa, and unveiling of the city's holiday lights are among the delights of Christmas Lights. Volunteers, dressed in period costume, will be serve cookies and hot chocolate.
